Sancrisoft Payroll is a production-grade, multi-currency payroll platform built entirely in-house in under 2 months using Conduct, Sancrisoft's proprietary agentic engineering harness. Built on Next.js 15 and Supabase, it replaced manual spreadsheet-driven processes with a secure, auditable, role-based platform for payroll administrators and employees.

Sancrisoft needed to migrate spreadsheet-driven processes that lacked auditability, as they contained sensitive employee data, multi-currency compensation, deductions, vacations, and document workflows. The goal was a single, secure platform that payroll administrators and employees could both trust to be accurate by construction, auditable end-to-end, and protective of personal data by design.

Sancrisoft engineered the Payroll as a modern, full-stack platform using Next.js and Supabase.

Security was a first-class design constraint: sensitive data was all encrypted and protected.

On top of this foundation, we support multi-currency payroll with per-period exchange rates, a reusable formula-based catalog of additions and deductions, automated net-pay recalculation, automated PDF letter and statement generation, transactional email, and a self-service employee dashboard.

Working with Conduct, our internal agentic harness, Sancrisoft compressed what is typically months of work into roughly 30 focused working days and did it with more rigor, not less.

What is Conduct? Conduct is Sancrisoft's internal agentic harness built on top of Claude Code.
It orchestrates AI personas through a disciplined workflow:

  • A Product Manager frames each problem,
  • An Architect refines the design and records the trade-offs,
  • A Tech Lead slices the work and coordinates parallel developer agents to build it.
  • A Reviewer adversarially checks every change before it merges.

    Nothing ships without passing automated linting, type-checking, and tests.

Challenge

Our Payroll system proves the model: bank-grade encryption, multi-currency and employee self-service, all delivered at a velocity that only becomes possible when AI agents operate inside a structured, quality-gated process rather than around it.

Solution

We used our own agentic harness (Conduct) to have the Payroll platform on production, here yo can see the sum up of the process.

  1. Brainstorm → Brief. Each feature began as a structured exploration (/conduct:brainstorm), producing a Brainstorm Brief that pinned down the problem, who it affected, constraints, and open questions before any solution was committed to.
  2. Spec → Architect refinement. A Product Manager persona drafted each specification (/conduct:spec), then an independent Architect pass pressure-tested the technical design and recorded the significant decisions as ADRs.
  3. Build → vertical slices. A Tech Lead persona (/conduct:build) sliced each feature into thin vertical slices, each a complete path through schema, API, UI, and tests and delegated the coding to developer subagents working in parallel, verifying integration rather than writing the code itself.
  4. Review → adversarial check. Before merge, a Reviewer persona (/conduct:review) fanned out specialized-lens subagents to hunt bugs, security gaps, and standards violations.
  5. Enforced back-pressure. A three-layer quality gate — agent-side hooks, husky/lint-staged pre-commit, and CI, meant pnpm lint, pnpm type-check, and the test suite all had to pass before anything landed. Quality was structural, not optional.
  6. Compounding knowledge. Learnings captured along the way fed back into the harness (/conduct:compound), so each feature made the next one faster.

Results

A fully traceable engineering record behind a real product:

  • 15 brainstorm sessions, every feature problem-framed before coding
  • 37 specifications files, zero improvised design decisions
  • 101 architecture decisions documented as ADRs
  • +716 commits, fully traceable engineering record
  • 0 manual spreadsheets, replaced entirely by an auditable platform

    • Employee and contractor registration with auto-generated codes, multiple bank accounts per person
    • Fixed base salary or hourly-rate compensation
    • Wage adjustment history per employee/contractor, flexible date-range pay periods, payment deductions (tax, social security, health, pension) and additions (bonuses, benefits),
    • Multiple payments per employee per period (bonuses, corrections) also automatic net-pay recalculation. Multi-currency support.
    • Payment processing and disbursements with partial-payment tracking, status-change audit trail and downloadable payroll statements
    • Ledger-based vacation tracking per employee (accruals and deductions, running balance), date-range entries with an "enjoyed" status for taken time off.
    • Full per-employee transaction history with effective dates and comments.
    • Vacation requests: employees submit requests; admins approve/reject.
    • Holidays calendar with vacation overlay, multi-country holiday catalog.
    • Employees request HR documents from their dashboard, admin queue to review, fulfill, and track open requests.
    • Letter generation from organization templates → auto-generated, signed PDF letters.
    • Document signatures and a resign flow.
    • Transactional email notifications.
